Love them or hate them, there’s no denying that the Kardashian Family has a huge influence on today’s pop culture and fashion trends. Whether it’s Kim, Khloe, and Kourtney’s co-owned fashion boutique Dash, Kylie’s perma-sold out Lip Kits, or Kendall’s edgy outfit inspo, they’re all heavy hitting influencers that are constantly on every major fashion guru’s radar.
Unless you’ve been living under a rock these past few months, then you’ve probably heard about the Kimye vs. Taylor Swift feud in the new. For those of you that need the 411, here’s a quick summary:
Earlier this year, Kanye West released a song called “Famous” where he raps “I feel like me and Taylor might still have sex/ Why? I made that b*tch famous.” Of course, this started a storm in the Twitter-sphere (to say the least) with Taylor fans bashing Kanye for the lyrics. Kanye immediately took to Twitter to defend himself, explaining that he had called Taylor to get her approval and she had sent her blessings.

In response to this, one of the reps from Taylor’s publicity team released a statement saying that Taylor cautioned Kanye about releasing a song with such a strong misogynistic message. Later that month at the Grammys, Taylor Swift accepted her Album of the Year Award for 1989 and used her speech to respond to Kanye.
After this, there was a lot of back and forth between Swift and Kimye. Until finally, on July 18, Kim Kardashian unloaded the ultimate pile of receipts on her Snapchat where she released a video of Kanye and Taylor discussing the song on the phone. The conversation is cordial and polite with both Kanye and Taylor chatting like any two friends would. In the video, Swift can be heard saying that she’s totally okay with the song and sees it as a compliment, completely going against all of the statements she had released before.
